Western USC Elections 2017

Demerit Points

Any campaign violations result in demerit points given out to each candidate. Demerit points can be given out for an array of violations such as pre-campaigning, campaign materials posted in an unauthorized location or misrepresentation of fact as stated in the USC’s by-law 2. A presidential slate is disqualified if they receive 30 points and all other candidates can be disqualified if 20 points are received. Demerit points can play a huge role in elections as seen when a slate-elect was disqualified two years ago, enabling Sophie Helpard’s slate to win.

Team Tobi: 26/30 points.

Team Jan/Mohammad: 12/30 points.

Nathan Mathov-Olszewicki: 4/20 points.

Grace Zhu: 2/20 points.
